Sign of the times

If you've read a picture book lately, the face on the left just might bring to mind the main character of said book. Seems as though there's a parental passiveness that's become pervassive in picture books over the last several years. Hmmmmm....something to think about.

  1. I love Finn Throws a Fit! I bought it last fall and sits proudly on my shelf.
    The illustrations are genius!

  3. Ohh, sounds a lot like my characters. Hmmm.

Interesting considering I'm the one on the playground doing everything that is going to stall my kids for years. I am out of the running for the "best mother award" (I took myself out the first time I gave C a time out...or maybe it was worse...)

Leslie! I didn't call to tell you I was in Texas because it's a big state and I wasn't close to your hometown, but I was thinking about you. We flew out of one snowstorm last week right into another...snow in Dallas? Unthinkable. At least the kind that sticks around.

  4. Leslie, that picture brought back so many childhood memories... We'll just live it at that. :D

I never read Finn Throws a Fit, but I loved the illustrations in the NYT article. I found it inspiring.
